Nebraska YMCA Swimming League:  During the fall and winter months, the Norfolk Family  YMCA Aquajets Swim Team participates in the Nebraska YMCA Youth Swim League.  The YMCA Swim League consists of YMCA’s in Beatrice,  Blair, Columbus,  Fremont, Hastings, Grand Island, Lincoln,  McCook and Norfolk.   All swimmers must be YMCA members in order to compete in this League.  YMCA League meets are especially good meets for the novice swimmer.  In March a State Championship meet is held.  All teams in the League participate and all swimmers are eligible to enter if they have participated in at least 3 YMCA League meets during the course of the season.  Norfolk  will typically host two Y League meets during the year, one in October, and one in January.

The Norfolk Family  YMCA Aquajets Swim Team is a member of the Midwestern USA Swimming District which consists of the state of Nebraska except the county of Scottsbluff and the following counties in the state of Iowa:  Lyon, Oscula, Sioux, O’Brien, Plymouth, Cherokee, Woodbury, Ida, Monona, Crawford, Harrison, Shelby, Pottawattamie, Mills, Montgomery, Fremont, and Page.  Several Districts make up a Region.  Midwestern is in Region VIII.  Swimmers entered in USA Swimming sanctioned meets are responsible for entry fees per individual event and a splash fee.

The Midwestern LSC (Licensed Swim Club) has an official website that offers a great deal of helpful information to swim families.  You will find meet information, pool locations, meet results, swimming rules and regulations, suit specifications and much more.  You will be able to locate your swimmer’s name and their **meet results from USA sanctioned meets on this site so you can keep track of their progress and standing with other USA swimmers in the state.  The website: www.mwswim.org

** Results from YMCA League meets are NOT posted on the Midwestern Swimming website as they are not USA Sanctioned meets with the exception of the Championship meet. That meet is usually sanctioned with USA Swimming.
