- The Aquajets would like to welcome you to walk with our float this Saturday, the 24th for the Lion’s Club Parade. In addition to generating awareness for our fantastic swim club, we’ll be carrying banners and passing out information cards to encourage the public to vote yes for the Norfolk City ballot initiative which, if passed, will include a beautiful new aquatics center for both recreation and competition. We’re hoping to have a great turnout among our families to show our support for this effort!

Our parade entry # is 82 We will setup and gather on Riverside Blvd, likely near the high school/movie theatre area.  We will be on the east side of the road.  We will send out a text Saturday morning with our exact location.  We will gather starting at 930am.

Your kiddos should wear a swimsuit on top / shorts on bottom and other Norfolk Swimming apparel. They could also wear caps and goggles and any medals that they’ve earned. We’ll also be blowing bubbles and tossing out bubble gum so please bring ice cream buckets for the gum.

We’re looking forward to seeing you there next Saturday for a fun morning!

Please call or text Amber Haake (402) 990-4111 or Amber Bargstadt (402) 297-1713 if you have any questions!

- If you have not registered your child with the Aquajets b/c they are participating in a fall sport, but your child is planning on joining the Aquajets after the fall sport is completed, that is completely fine.  However, if your child plans on swimming in the Aquajets first home swim meet of the season on Oct. 8, they must be registered with the Aquajets prior to the swim meet.

It is that time of the year again in which we are kicking off our annual fundraiser.  This is our only fundraiser for the year, and we need everyone’s help in making it a success.  Funds from past fundraisers have been used for new starting blocks, practice fins, and last year, a new starter box.

Each Aquajet family is being given a small number of businesses or individuals to contact, who have donated in at least one of the past two campaigns.  We ask that within the next two weeks, you and/or your swimmer visit the businesses and as a representative of the Norfolk YMCA Aquajet Swim Team, ask if they would be able/interested in supporting our local swim club.

Like last year, we will be offering the three levels of support:

Gold – $100+                      Silver – $50                           Bronze – $35

Any other level of donation will be gladly accepted.

Important information to know:                                                                                                                      -          All checks should be made payable to “Norfolk Aquajets”                                                          -          We are not able to accept credit card payments                                                                      -          Businesses can request to be billed.  Please provide the appropriate billing information when returning the index cards                                                                                             -          Campaign funds can be mailed directly to the campaign coordinator:  Aquajets, 208 Harris Drive, Norfolk, NE 68701

As an incentive, all families who are able to complete their campaign packets and have them returned to one of the coaches or the Olberdings by July 25, will be entered into a drawing to receive a gift card to one of four businesses that have contributed to the fundraising campaign.  Gift card increments will be $25, $20, $15, and $10.  In addition, for every NEW business that you are able to collect a donation from, your name will be added to the drawing an extra time.

The fundraising campaign will take place from July 6-25.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Kent or Leah Olberding.
